August project update
"Nuts About Carnabys" program

Partnering with celebrity gardener Sabrina Hahn, we are exited to have 300 Macadamia trees for people to purchase to help address the Carnabys' critical food shortage.
While this does not negate the need for habitat restoration and stopping land clearing , these new fast-fruiting cultivars can grow crops within 2-3 years! They are the first of their kind in WA, thanks to the support of the University of Queensland and The Macadamia Conservation Trust.
The trees cost $49 each and will need to be collected from Floreat area at mid-morning on a Saturday in September.
Nest boxes installed

With Carnaby's Crusaders on board, the first 5 next boxes have been installed as part of the Corridors project.
Working with 5 Rivers NRM, the nest boxes were installed at targeted locations with high nest demands. All nest boxes have been inspected by breeding pairs of Carnabys within a few days of installation, and a few have been visited several times, with some signs of the pairs preparing them for the breeding season.
Hopefully we can share some exciting updates soon!
Getting close: Waroona Show.

The countdown is on to the 10th of October, when Australia's largest 1-day agricultural show happens in Waroona!
Come down and meet Carly the Carnaby, see live-streams from our nesting hollows and get tips from gardening expert Sabria Hahn. Plus all the fun of this amazing annual show!
Don't forget to keep sending videos!

We are loving all the videos you keep sending in, from large flock movements to feeding to the weird and wonderful behaviours that our beloved Carnabys often engage in!
So keep heading to upload.corridorsforcarnabys.com to record and upload videos when you see our feathered friends!
Let us know if you have a large number of videos (particularly over time at a favourite water station or similar for them) and we can setup an easier way for you to share larger numbers of files.
